How do you win a bracket race? ›

The idea is to cross the finish line just ahead of the other car, (duh) without going faster than your stated time. (That's the tricky part.) Bottom line is if you have the other car beat by a whole bunch, back-off a little to make sure you don't go too fast and "break-out".

Bracket racing is a form of drag racing that allows for a handicap between predicted elapsed time of the two cars over a standard distance, typically within the three standard distances (1/8 mile, 1,000 foot, or 1/4 mile) of drag racing.

NO ONE HAS EVER picked a verified perfect NCAA men's bracket, and it's probably not going to happen in our lifetime, or the lifetime of our kids, or their kids, or their kids.

A/A to L/A, A/AA to L/AA for automatics, A/AP and B/AP (for cars using a planetary transmission), AA/A and BB/A for blown gas cars, AA/AM and BB/AM for blown methanol-burning cars, AA/AT to DD/AT for turbocharged cars, AA/AF and BB/AF for turbocharged front wheel drive cars.

What happens if you win the losers bracket? ›

In the end, the winner of the "losers" bracket competes against the winner of the main bracket. Double elimination brackets have winners and losers brackets. A team that won a match is placed in the winner's bracket, whereas a team that has lost the match is placed in the loser's bracket.
