\nFor anyone unfamiliar you must use Textnow's app for all your absolutely free calling and texting. Cellular data is sold separately and is never free. You'll need an Android or iOS device to run the Textnow app.

\nYou'll be a given a new phone number when you sign up. If you don't use the service for awhile you lose that phone number. They'll give you another different phone number when you return to using the service. If you want to keep your same number forever without restrictions I beleive there is a one time fee to get that done.

\nTrying to remember which network the free SIM runs on. Either way if you have an unlocked phone this is a great freebie to use as a backup phone.
